When the Father is silent for a long time and then begins to speak again it is usually through the Proverbs. He knows they cut me like a knife and trim away all pretense, all pride, and all the bull. God knows how to get my attention and today is no different. Today’s proverb where the author asks only for an honest mouth and his daily bread.
My heart desires this too, Father. For you are my daily bread and I want to speak for you with honest lips.
“Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord ?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (Proverbs 30:7-9 NIV)
