Can you believe it? Today we finish 7 months of reading the Bible. Daily immersion in the Word of God and study of His Word is captivating. I admit, when you begin it is… well… not so much. Reading the Bible everyday is HARD. It’s not something you are used to. It’s not something you have as a habit in your life. It’s not something, frankly, that you even understand when you open the first pages of Genesis. I mean if we are to remain honest anyway. There are the “begats” and the “the son of’s”, right? It’s tough to get through when you first embark.
Hopefully by now you have developed a genuine connection with the Word of God. If you have done that you have also realized a few things the Bible offers along with Truth. Here are few, but by no means is this list “all inclusive”:
1. Comfort when you are walking through darkness. – Psalms
2. Instructions on what to do with situations common to us all. – Proverbs
3. Wisdom – Proverbs
4. Compelling intrigue. – Old Testament
5. Prophecy. – Old Testament
6. Truth. – New Testament (those letters in red)
7. Vision of God’s Character – Old Testament, New Testament
8. Story of Our Lives – Bible
Again these are just a few things the Bible offers. What are some of your favorites?

Psalm 23 is one of the most known, quoted, and relied upon scriptures in the Bible. Today we come across this beautiful passage in our Daily Reading. Instead of me babbling on about it, why don’t you just take a look yourself:

Some days you just have to ride. Get out of your normal, day to day routines and just ride. When I’m hiking or riding my bike is when I have heard

Ever had a conversation that just hits your heart…… Take a look at this one I had a few weeks ago with a faithful friend.
FRIEND: The thing that gets me through the discouragement often is remembering the difference in a Godly Desire and a Godly Goal.
Godly Desire = I desire everyone around me to find Jesus the way I have because it has absolutely changed my life. I want to do any and everything I can to convince people of what I am feeling so they can share in it with me.
Godly Desire = Noble, good, indicator of heart being in the right place.
Godly Desire = if not paid attention to with respect to a Godly Goal will run you into the ground. YOU CANNOT CHANGE PEOPLE. ONLY GOD CAN. You can however be an instrument of change… enter you the Godly Goal.
Godly Goal = I want to be the best Sunday Blog Poster I can be the God intended me to be in that God may use my writing and talents given to me by Him to reach others as HE sees fit.
The desire is good and you need it, but it must be subservient to the Godly Goal. The Goal should drive you. The Goal keeps it all in perspective. The goal allows God to be God and you to be His instrument of righteousness… not the other way around.
Whoa…. that was deep.
ME: I’m going to copy and paste that! Blog for next week is done now! LOL

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.
Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. Lord, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call! (Psalm 20:1-9 NIV)
Now I know I don’t have to REALLY trick you to do your Bible Reading, but isn’t that passage a beautiful encouraging message? That is the type of peace made through reading the scriptures daily.

YOU my friend, have knocked down 205 Days of reading the Bible after today. There are 160 Days left before the end of 2013. I try to do this quarterly, but I think I forgot when Q2 rolled around. It’s time to take a little “Spiritual Inventory”
1. How has life changed by reading the Bible Daily (or playing catch up… that’s fine too.)?
2. Do you see differences in choices you make?
3. Have you been compelled to tell someone about your walk with Christ?
4. Do you have a deeper understanding of “Why Read The Bible?”
5. What is on your heart to learn before the end of the year?
5.5 Have you asked God to reveal what you should be learning on this trip?
