October 31 Bible Reading
Yesterday I mentioned that there was so much to talk about yesterday that I would cover some more tomorrow. Remember that? What I was talking about was the Book of Hebrews.
The Book of Hebrews, in my opinion, is one of the best places to begin reading the Bible (besides the beginning) because it is smithed like a summary of everything to that point. It explains who Jesus really is and what His role is in everything. Hebrews also explains OUR roles and responsibilities as Christians too.
Poke around a bit further in the Book of Hebrews today. Go beyond the daily reading and really study the book. If you have done that before, do it again and enjoy what God has in store for you.

Today’s reading packs a wallop! We begin by continuing Lamentations. While 50 million people are enduring one of the worst storms on record here in the United States things really come into perspective. We see what

We have gotten to the point in the “Bible in a Year” Journey where we start and finish books all the time. We may start a book in the Old Testament and finish a book in the New Testament. Or… like today… we begin and finish a book in the New Testament in the same day. Paul’s letter to Philemon. For the next couple of months it will seem like

Hope this finds you all healthy and happy!
One of the best things about reading the bible everyday is that sometimes I read a passage that speaks to my every day life, yet the words were written long before my existence. It’s what keeps me coming back every day and I hope maybe it’s what will keep you curious and wanting more…..
Saw this today and wanted to share it.
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.
Have a blessed day friends and slow down to give thanks for all that you have!

Jesus is King. He is a Warrior. He fights for us. I see that in Jeremiah today. For those of you that still believe that Jesus is ONLY a cheek turning, soft-hearted man that does sweet things and holds lambs and kids… This one is for you.

This post is going to be unusual, but I will keep it short. I know you come here to get your daily Bible verses and read a few lines of what I put together each morning. Since this post will have nothing to do with that (well kinda) I will keep it short.
10 Years ago today (actually 10 years ago last night) I wrote a letter to God on the eve of our wedding. I wrote a letter asking Him to bless me and my soon to be bride with a life of happiness, joy, and knowing Him. God IS FAITHFUL… even when I’m not faithful to Him. He has kept His promise. he has blessed me with a wonderful wife, family, and life. As a result of asking God if we could walk with Him on this journey called marriage, He has given us strength when we were weak, love when we were feeling lonely, and joy when we least expected it.
Thank you Lord for these last 10 years with my amazing wife. Please allow us to continue walking with you for that has made all the difference.
Now… Go read your Bible!
P.S. The pic above is from somewhere special to Amber and I. See if you can guess where and why and put it in comments or on Facebook.

2 Timothy 4:1-22
Are you right where the devil wants you? Are you closing your mouth forever? Are you really contemplating not ever opening your mouth for Jesus again?
We have all been under this kind of attack. (if you haven’t please send me a note, because I’d like to meet the only person that hasn’t). The devil can’t make you do anything… directly. He has no power to. He can INFLUENCE you to do things. In fact, he’s pretty good at most of the time.
One way Satan gets you is to
